Tetiana Sylina to Deliver Lecture on the Challenges Facing Ukrainian Journalism The award-winning journalist’s talk will be held March 12 on W&L’s campus.

Tetiana Sylina, award-winning Ukrainian journalist and editor at a leading Kyiv-based newspaper, will deliver a lecture at Washington and Lee University on March 12 at 7 p.m. in Hillel House.

Sylina’s lecture is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the Class of 1963 Scholars in Residence Program and W&L’s East European and Russian Studies program.

In her lecture titled “Challenges Facing Ukrainian Journalism in the Russian-Ukrainian War,” Sylina will discuss the role of a free press in democracy and the challenges Ukrainian journalists face, including the risks to their lives during Ukraine’s war against Russian aggression.
