W&L Mock Convention Wins Pollie Award

Washington and Lee University’s 2008 Democratic Mock Convention won a Pollie Award from the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) for successful “student political fundraising – direct mail.”

Senior Anthony Nardini, co-fundraising chair of this year’s Mock Convention with senior Jay Lester, represented W&L and Lester at the AAPC’s national conference in mid-March and was presented with the award. A video about Mock Con emphasizing the unique involvement of young people in politics at W&L was also played for the entire convention audience at the Awards Banquet.
