Alan Carrillo, a 2018 graduate of Washington and Lee University School of Law, has been named to the 2026 list of best attorneys under 40 by D Magazine. The publication annually recognizes a distinct list of talented young attorneys nominated by other Dallas attorneys.

Carrillo is an attorney in the Dallas office of Brown Fox and was recently elevated to partner with the firm. In his practice, Carrillo advises and represents clients in commercial litigation and serves as an adviser to clients with a wide range of needs. He has also been recognized as a One to Watch by Best Lawyers and a Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers.

Carrillo litigates commercial matters across a range of industries. His clients’ cases usually involve disputes about business contracts or services, fraud, deceptive trade practices, employee misconduct, or trade secret theft. Carrillo also represents creditors in bankruptcy cases and court-appointed receivers recovering estate assets for creditors and investors.

Leveraging several years of experience at two international law firms and a year as an inaugural law clerk to U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr—all in Dallas—Carrillo advocates for clients in state and federal courts in Dallas-Fort Worth and throughout Texas. As the former President of the Federal Bar Association’s Dallas Chapter, Carrillo regularly appears as lead or local counsel in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

At W&L Law, Carrillo was a member of the Moot Court Board, a senior articles editor for the Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice, the 1L representative to the Executive Committee, and a 3L representative to the University Board of Appeals. As an alumnus, Carrillo has served W&L Law as a Chapter Volunteer, a Law Mentor, and a Law Class Agent, and has served on the Young Alumni Committee and the Reunion Class Committee.
