Brianne Kleinert, senior legal assistant, and her family.Brianne Kleinert is a Senior Legal Assistant in the Law School and works with the Immigrant Rights Clinic, the Tax Clinic, and Externship Programs. She has worked at W&L Law since November 2008. Brianne was born and raised in Lexington, VA. She currently resides in Buena Vista, VA with her husband, Scott, a Behavioral Health Clinician at the Rockbridge Area Health Center, and her ten-year-old son, Bryson, and five-year-old son, Colton.
Q. Where is your favorite location on the W&L campus?
I enjoy the Chapel and the front lawn – especially when colors change in the fall.
Q. What is your favorite thing to do when you are not working?
Spend time with my boys, build LEGOs, or read.
Q. Book/Podcast/TV Show Recommendation
I like to read all types of books. Currently, I am reading Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. If I get the chance to listen to podcasts, I usually choose Dark History or Crime Junkie. It is hard to choose a favorite TV show but I would have to say it is a toss-up between Grey’s Anatomy and Friends.
Q. Who inspires you?
My mother is my inspiration. She showed me how to be a great mother and supportive partner.
Q. If you could have coffee or tea with one person (living or deceased), who would it be and why?
There are several, but I would have to choose my grandmother who passed away in August of 2018. Her passing was something I struggled with for quite some time because I was extremely close to her. Seeing her one more time for coffee or tea would be wonderful.
Q. What is an accomplishment you are proud of?
I was the first member in my family to attend college. I had to pay for my college, which meant I worked and went to school at the same time.
Q. Favorite food/restaurant/drink?
I like all sorts of foods but I love pasta and most anything with pumpkin! My favorite restaurants are On the Border and Coastal Flats.
Q. Most used/enjoyable app on your phone?
I have several apps on my phone that I like – Killer Sudoku, Pyramid Solitaire, and Instagram.
