
Get to Know the Newest Members of the W&L Community – 10/20/25 The following individuals recently joined the Washington and Lee employee workforce.
Ian Davies, Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach – Athletics
Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I attended Roanoke College, where I played on the lacrosse team. I grew up in Austin, Texas and had a previous career in finance at Apple.
Q. Any favorite Lexington or regional activities?
I’m very excited to check out various hiking trails within the mountains surrounding Lexington!
Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I have played the electric guitar my whole life and really enjoy playing Texas blues as well as listening to legendary blues artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix.
Ingrid Heggoy Zepp, Executive Director of Advancement Services
Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a native of Athens, Georgia, by way of Pennsylvania. I moved to Staunton in 2020 and I haven’t looked back – I love being in the Shenandoah Valley!
Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I am a musician (my undergraduate degree is music performance), and I enjoy playing with the Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra and with a local Staunton nonprofit music organization, Caravanserai Music. I’m also an enthusiastic (and slow) hiker.
Laura Jane Ramsburg, Staniar Gallery Director – Art and Art History
Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I have over 20 years of experience in arts management. I am coming to W&L from Hollins University, where I was the associate director of the Eleanor D. Wilson Museum and worked closely with the Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums certificate program. I have a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from James Madison University and a Master of Arts in liberal studies from Hollins.
Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I enjoy traveling with my family, watching sci-fi and finding the best local spots for pizza and tacos.
Danielle Taylor, Office Manager – Lifelong Learning
Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I’ll be graduating with my bachelor’s degree in information technology from Liberty University this fall. I live in town with my husband and our mini Australian Shepherd.
Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I enjoy relaxing with a good show, but when I’m feeling active, I love weight training or joining group classes at the YMCA.
Q. Any favorite Lexington or regional activities?
You’ll often find me at the YMCA. The gym is my happy place! I also love the Chessie Trail — it’s such a classic Lexington nature walk and it’s perfect for families and pets.
