Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m originally from Kentucky, which is evident by my favorite music (bluegrass) and favorite sports team (UK men’s basketball – Go Big Blue!). I knew from a young age I wanted to be a writer and followed my passion to the University of Missouri, which is the oldest journalism school in the country. I worked as a reporter and editor for weekly newspapers in Florida and Virginia before working in higher education. What I love most is connecting with people and sharing their stories.
Q. Any favorite regional spots or activities you are excited about?
I’m extremely excited to explore Lexington and all it has to offer! Please send any great food/drink recommendations or great nearby hiking spots my way! Lime Kiln Theater has been on my list to check out for a while; it looks like an amazing music venue.
Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I can often be found after work walking my dog, a friendly, sweet 9-year-old golden retriever. I’m not offended that most humans only know me as “Henry’s mom.” I love seeing live music, playing board games, finding new breweries with awesome hazy IPAs, cooking and reading. I’ve run six half marathons and would love No. 7 to be a full marathon. Uh oh, does saying that publicly hold me to it?
