Get to Know the Newest Members of the W&L Community – 12/20/22 The following individuals recently joined the Washington and Lee employee workforce.
Lilian Burgler, Technology Integration Specialist – ITS
Q. Tell us a little about you and your background.
I immigrated to the United States from Brazil, and I still speak Portuguese. I studied philosophy at Bryn Mawr College (Haverford major) and the University of Chicago. My family and I are transplants from the New York City metro area. My husband Ian is a site reliability engineer and works remotely. We have two kids, John (5) and Yvette (4).
Q. How do you unwind or have fun?
I am pretty good at painting. I learned to paint with oils, and now I paint with acrylic. I also love to sing, and I am classically trained. Additionally, I love to nerd out on data science.
Q. Anything you are looking forward to in particular at W&L?
Newcomer’s Club and the natatorium! I am a lifelong lap swimmer and am so excited to have access to a world-class indoor pool.
Dylan Garrett, Custodian – University Facilities
Q. Tell us a little about you and your background.
I was born and raised in Rockbridge County. I’ve been married to my wonderful wife for the last five years and we have a 3-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son.
Q. Any Favorite Lexington or Regional Spots/Activities?
I enjoy going to the drive-in theater with my family.
Q. How do you unwind or have fun?
I enjoy most evenings watching football or hunting.
Reba Miller, Web Content Manager – Communications & Public Affairs
Q. Tell us a little about you and your background.
I was born and raised in Lexington and I am so excited to be back in the area with family and friends.
Q. Anything you are looking forward to in particular at W&L?
I am looking forward to my new endeavor in the Communications & Public Affairs Office at Washington and Lee, and being back in the W&L community!
