I am originally from Lynchburg, Virginia. I obtained a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in history from Ferrum College. I have been a teacher for the past three years. I taught fifth grade language arts and history for one year, and I have taught kindergarten the past three years. I competed in softball at the collegiate level during my four years at Ferrum. I just recently got married in June. My husband, Jacob, is a sergeant with the Buena Vista Police Department and works undercover for the State Police Drug Task Force. I have a five-year-old stepdaughter named Adeline who is currently in kindergarten. I have two dogs named Goose and Maverick, and two cats named Mikki and Annie.
Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I enjoy crafting and completing DIY projects. One way I like to unwind is to grab an iced coffee and go shopping. Aside from crafting and shopping, I also give batting lessons to softball players around the county. I played softball for 16 years, so it is fun to still be a part of it from a different role.

My favorite place to grab a quick lunch in Lexington is Blue Sky Bakery. I also enjoy visiting the shops in downtown Lexington.
