Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in southern studies and history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Arts in history (museums studies concentration) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I began my museum career at the Thomasville History Center in Georgia, where I worked for more than 12 years at the educator and later as head of community engagement. I recently served as the co-chair for the Georgia Museum Educators Group and as a member of the Communications and Programs committee for the Georgia Association of Museums. In 2024, I graduated from the Southeastern Museums Conference Leadership Institute.
Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
In the fall of 2024, Thomasville Humane, a no-kill shelter in Southwest Georgia, put out a call for hurricane fosters as Helene took aim at the gulf coast. I answered the call and brought home a very chatty Siamese named Bowie for the weekend. Bowie decided he wasn’t leaving and has been running the house ever since.
Q. Anything, in particular, you are looking forward to at W&L?
I am looking forward to the process of developing and designing an institutional museum that fosters sense of belonging and hospitality while serving the campus community and region at large.

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in Augusta County and graduated from Virginia Tech. I’ve lived in Lexington for almost a year and I am continuing to enjoy my new community with my boyfriend and our dogs.

Some of my favorite spots in Lexington include Pronto, Pure Eats and Taps. In the warmer months, I enjoy walking on the Chessie Trail and attending shows at Lime Kiln. My boyfriend is a cross country and track coach so I enjoy cheering on his runners at their meets.

Always find a reason to smile and laugh no matter how difficult the situation.
