Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I have a wonderful wife and five-year-old daughter. I enjoy the outdoors and love kayaking.

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I enjoy spending time with my family, grilling out and playing video games.

Q. Best advice anyone has ever given you?
Always be honest with yourself no matter what.


Katie Hall, Senior Annual Giving Coordinator – University Advancement

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in Lexington and have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (kinesiology) from Longwood University. I am married to my high school boyfriend and we have two kids, Charlie (13) and Addy, 11.

Q. Any favorite regional spots or activities that excite you?
I love being outdoors and I love all of the trails you can find in Rockbridge County. I also enjoy watching my kids play sports. They are both playing lacrosse this spring.

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I enjoy hanging out with my family. We love hiking, boating and watching (and playing) various sports. I unwind in my garden, in my bee yard or jogging on various outdoor trails.


Adam Harker, Associate Architect and Project Manager — University Facilities

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born in Lynchburg, Virginia and I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Architecture from North Carolina State University. I am married to my lovely wife, Anza, and we have two beautiful girls, Ava (7) and Nora (3).

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I enjoy boating, fishing and spending time with my family in the great outdoors. In my spare time, I’ve been working on building a log cabin in Pittsylvania County, Virginia.

Q. Any favorite regional spots or activities that excite you?
I am excited to be back in the Old Dominion close to family, friends and all that the Shenandoah Valley has to offer.

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I have lived in Rockbridge County my entire life. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Liberty University. For the last 10 years, I have worked in outreach and development in healthcare both with hospice and long-term care.

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
In my free time, you will find me with my boxer, Luna. She loves water just as much as I do, so you will find us near a body of water all summer long.

Q. Best advice anyone has ever given you?
Sometimes you have to forget what you feel and remember what you deserve.


Grace Sanburn, Development Writer — Officer of Donor Relations

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in Easton, Pennsylvania, and attended Lafayette College, where I studied English and environmental studies. Both of my parents are educators, and my brother works for the Boys and Girls Club in Philadelphia, so working at schools definitely runs in the family!

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I love to keep myself busy! I’m an avid golfer and have recently gotten into running. I love to crochet and read in my free time. I also enjoy both cooking and baking!

Q. Any favorite regional spots or activities that excite you?
I’m excited to get involved in outdoor activities in the Lexington area. I’m coming from Pennsylvania, so I’m looking forward to living in the mountains!
