Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I am married with five children that range in age from 5 to 26. I have lived in Virginia for most of my life, with a six-year stint in Boston, Massachusetts. I have a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, having spent about 15 years in the restaurant industry. My master’s degrees are in theological studies and discipleship ministries, and I have spent 10 years in hospital chaplaincy (although I think I have used more of my chaplaincy skills in my higher education role then the hospital in recent years). My family has a super sweet Belgian Malinois that loves frisbee and herding the kiddos, in addition to a cat that follows mom everywhere. Three horses round out the bunch.

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I love to read, crochet, sing and take my little kiddos to the playground. I can also be found binging a good show on TV every now and again.  Fun fact, I used to work on the Annabelle Lee dinner cruise ship in Richmond after high school as a singing waitress.

Q. Anything in particular that you are looking forward to?
I’m very much looking forward to getting to know everyone at W&L. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about the faculty, staff and students, and I’m excited to be a part of the family.
