Wayne Beverly, Power Plant Utility Operator – University Facilities
Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I have been married to my wife, Jessica, for 36 years. We have two daughters, four granddaughters and one grandson. I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching softball with my oldest daughter and hunting.
Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I like vacationing in Tennessee with my family and hunting.
Q. Best advice anyone has ever given you?
Keep your faith and keep going!
Karl Jackson, Technology Integration Specialist – Information Technology Services
Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I come from a large family in the mountains of Colorado. I attended DePaul University in Chicago before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps for service with the U.S. Marine Band, where I served for 20 years. After my military retirement, I served at the U.S. Senate and at the White House before moving to Lexington in 2024. I am excited to enjoy a slower pace of life here with my wife, Graziella, our two kitties and a new border collie puppy.
Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I enjoy woodworking, especially related to renovation and upkeep of our 1775 era home.

I have been married for 22 years to my husband, Richard, and we have two children, ages 23 and 25.
Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I enjoy outdoor activities like biking, hiking and music festivals, etc.
Q. Anything in particular that you are looking forward to here at W&L?
I’m looking forward to being involved in university activities and community events.
