Washington and Lee University women’s basketball player Icy Keneah ’26 was one of 20 student-athletes nationwide to be recognized on the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team for the winter sports season.
The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team honors student-athletes across all NCAA and NAIA divisions who go above and beyond in volunteerism and civic engagement, complementing their accomplishments in the classroom and in competition. A total of 60 student-athletes are recognized yearly from the fall, winter and spring sports seasons.
A four-year member of the W&L women’s basketball program and a team captain this winter, Keneah has made a lasting impact both on and off the court. She has appeared in 84 career games, totaling 296 points and 177 rebounds, while helping lead W&L to a 23-0 record entering the final weekend of the regular season.
Off the court, Keneah is the co-founder and president of the Sock Society, an initiative she launched in high school and expanded at W&L to provide new, high-quality socks to shelters in Richmond, Lexington and Buena Vista. Under her leadership, the organization has grown into a campus-wide movement, hosting creative donation drives such as “Sock Grams” to engage students while serving community members in need.
Keneah also serves as a Community Advisor for the Residence Life program, is a participant in the Generals Leadership Academy and a member of the Athletic DEI Committee. She volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and spent the summer of 2024 as a communications intern with the Darfur Women Action Group. Additionally, she studied abroad in Nepal and served as a panel speaker at the W&L Friends of the Library Symposium.
Academically, the guard is a double major in history and politics, a multi-time W&L Scholar-Athlete and an ODAC All-Academic Team honoree.
If you know a W&L student who has done great, accolade-worthy things, tell us about them! Nominate them for an accolade.
