Meet a Colleague: Dave Forman Dave Forman serves as head strength and conditioning coach.
Q. How long have you worked at W&L?
I am in my fourth year at W&L.
Q. What is the favorite aspect of your job at W&L?
I love feeling like a part of this campus and I love seeing and interacting with students and student-athletes outside of the varsity weight room/fitness center setting. Also Steve Cross, the manager of WLUR, lets me get on the radio from time to time.
Q. If you chose a different path, what other career would you have?
Graphic design
Q. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in New York City.
Q. What was your favorite subject in school?
When I was younger it was math. In college, it was physiology.
Q. Who is the most famous person you have met and where did you meet them?
I am fortunate in my career to have worked with and met a number of famous athletes and people, but my idol growing up was Don Mattingly of the New York Yankees. I had the opportunity to meet him in 2004.
Q. What do you like to do away from work?
Surf
Q. What is your least favorite chore at home?
Taking out the garbage.
Q. What is the most adventurous thing that you have ever done?
I packed up my car and moved to California when I graduated college.
Q. What is your all-time favorite food or food dish?
The Hawaiian dish Loco Moco. The Nova Scotian dish Halifax Donair comes in a close second.
Q. Where would you choose to build your dream home?
By the beach, probably in San Diego.
Q. What is your all-time favorite book?
“Catcher in the Rye.”
Q. If you could choose one series to binge-watch, what would it be?
“The Wire” is the greatest television series of all time.
Q. What is your all-time favorite movie?
“Vanilla Sky.”
Q. What song or artist could you play on repeat?
The rock band Gang of Youths.
Q. Tell us something most people don’t know about you.
It took every bit of willpower that I possess to NOT climb on stage and sing “Trippin’” with Futurebirds at LexFest a couple years back.
