Q. How long have you worked at W&L?
I started in May 2024.

Q. What do you like most about working at W&L?
I enjoy helping alumni, parents and students with different needs. Every now and then I get to research a little about the history of the university. Also, there are so many learning opportunities and the classes available at the gym. The wonderful people all over Washington Hall and around campus are big bonuses too! I’ve made new friends and like everything.

Q. Where did you grow up?
Louisville, Kentucky and Huntsville, Alabama.

Q. What advice do you have for students?
Lexington is special so make the most of every minute. There’s a lot more than you might think and if you miss anything, just come back to visit.

Q. What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
I like to walk, ride my bike, swim, play pickleball, garden, bake sourdough bread and most of all, travel to visit my precious, far-flung children.

Q. If you could live anywhere, where would you build your dream home?
Lexington, Virginia – I’m very happy here.

Q. What book are you reading now?
“Look Homeward Angel” by Thomas Wolfe.

Q. What is your favorite film (movie) of all time?
“Sabrina,” the one made in 1995. One is entirely too hard to pick though.

Q. What is the website you visit most often and why?
Currently, it is Lowes.com to find equipment and supplies for planting trees and shrubs in my yard.

Q. If they made a movie about your life, who would play you?
Julia Ormond – I just love her!

Q. If you could have coffee with one person, who would it be and why?
Ruth Bader Ginsburg because she was thoughtful and brilliant and used her gifts for good. Although, I’d be so thoroughly intimidated that I might not even be able to speak, so I’d have to pick someone else. I’d be overjoyed to have a coffee with my husband or any one of my children or a friend.

Q. What is your desert island food?
Chocolate and every kind of fruit.

Q. Tell us something most people don’t know about you.
I am newly married.

Q. What is your secret talent?
Watercolor painting and sewing.
