Meet a Colleague: Jenny Davidson ’08 Jenny Davidson ’08 serves as associate director of the Shepherd Program.
Q. How long have you worked at W&L?
I have been working at W&L for more than 16 years.
Q. What do you like most about working at W&L?
I love getting to know students and continuing to develop those relationships as they graduate.
Q. Where is your favorite location on the W&L campus?
The Mattingly House Living Room.
Q. Where did you grow up?
I am from Tully, New York, a small town south of Syracuse.
Q. What advice do you have for students?
Get involved with the local community! There is so much education that happens outside the classroom and I’ve seen community partners and local residents play a huge role in shaping students during their time at W&L.
Q. What is the most adventurous thing that you have ever done?
I worked for several years as a high ropes course operator.
Q. What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
I like to read.
Q. If you could live anywhere, where would you build your dream home?
I would build on the beach.
Q. Who most inspires you?
Honestly, I’m inspired by the team, the students and the alumni I work with every day.
Q. What book are you reading now?
“First Lie Wins” by Ashley Elston
Q. What music are you listening to these days?
I listened to “High Hopes” on repeat while choreographing a routine for the cheerleaders I coach.
Q. What is the website you visit most often and why?
Currently, it is wluforms, to manage registrations for the Social Impact Careers Summit.
Q. If they made a movie about your life, who would play you?
Natalie Portman. In high school multiple strangers told me we look alike.
Q. If you could have coffee with one person, who would it be and why?
I’m lucky to share coffee (and dinner) with my small group from church every Wednesday. This group has become like family, and I’m encouraged every time we are together.
Q. What is your desert island food?
Tortilla chips and dark chocolate.
Q. Tell us something most people don’t know about you.
When Harlan Beckley hired me, he asked me to please commit to two years (I was the third Campus Kitchen coordinator in three years). Little did he know I’d stay working in the Shepherd Program forever.
