Mock Convention is excited to announce its Parents and Family Weekend 2022 speakers: Former First Lady Laura Bush and First Daughter Barbara Pierce Bush. Parents and families are invited on Friday, Sept. 30 at 3:30 p.m. in University Chapel to hear the mother-daughter pair share lessons and memories from their days in the White House.

The Washington and Lee Mock Convention is an entirely student-run political simulation and research exercise, during which the W&L student body comes together to predict the presidential nominee for the party out of power.

As the most accurate political mock convention in the nation, the committee’s goal is to promote civic activity and political engagement in the W&L community and beyond. By the time of the convention, 95% of the student body will be involved with Mock Con in some capacity.

“This cycle will be a Republican one, and the committee will work to create an accurate, unique and memorable convention for W&L students while preserving the rich legacy of the Mock Convention,” said a committee spokesperson.

Further event details and ticketing information will follow in the weeks ahead. Visit the Mock Convention website for the most up-to-date information.
