

Philanthropy Education Week Kicks Off March 10

Washington and Lee University will celebrate the third annual Philanthropy Education Week from March 10-13. The four-day event emphasizes the vital role of philanthropic contributions in enhancing the student experience at W&L. Organized by the Office of Development, the week offers a series of programs designed to educate students on how donations directly impact university life and to provide opportunities to express gratitude to the university’s generous supporters.
The schedule of events during the week include:
Monday, March 10
- 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Tabling in Elrod Commons featuring games, prizes and more.
- 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Trivia Taxi, featuring rides with President Will Dudley.
- 6 to 8 p.m.: Leading Lives of Consequence dinner and bingo in Evans Dining Hall. This event is open to the W&L community. Connect with members of the W&L community and featured speakers Dean for Diversity, Inclusion and Student Engagement Tammy Futrell, Associate Dean of the Williams School and Lewis Whitaker Adams Professor in Commerce Elizabeth Oliver and Shane Lynch, professor of music and director of choral activities, as they explore what it means to lead lives of consequence. Enjoy a complimentary Indian buffet, inspiring speakers and bingo with prizes.
