Gifts from Black alumni in connection with a 2019 campus reunion funded these grants for students to pursue educational opportunities over the summer.
- Vincent Buckman ’20: Shadowing surgeons in the Richmond metro area.
- Nevin Etter ’23: Research focused on mathematics history, including the contributions of African American mathematicians.
- Lauren Hayes ’23: Summer research with Stephanie Sandberg, assistant professor of theater, to turn her domestic violence documentary into a play.
- Lauryn McCray ’22: Summer research with Erich Uffelman, the Bentley Professor of Chemistry.
- Jeremy Wharton ’23: Research with Jonathan Erickson, associate professor of engineering, on colon mobility, continuing work he did in the AIM summer program as an incoming first-year.
