Tiffany Pins Earns Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year Award New mentor garners recognition in her first season coaching the Generals.
Tiffany Pins, head women’s soccer coach at Washington and Lee University, was selected as the 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coach of the Year in voting conducted by the league’s coaches.
In her first year at W&L, Pins guided the Generals to a 14-2-5 overall record, an 8-0-2 regular-season conference record and a national ranking as high as No. 18 overall. Despite the undefeated conference mark, W&L earned the No. 2 seed for the ODAC Tournament, advancing to the semifinals before falling to eventual NCAA Division III semifinalist Virginia Wesleyan, 2-1.
W&L recorded a program-best 19-game unbeaten streak and earned the program’s first NCAA Tournament berth since 2016. The Blue & White saw the season come to an end with a 2-1 loss to Centre College in the opening round of the national championship event.
Pins came to W&L in the summer of 2022 after 11 seasons as the head coach at Wartburg College. While there, she earned two American Rivers Conference Coaching Staff of the Year Awards, leading Wartburg to seven NCAA Tournament berths. She now claims a 146-56-32 (.692) overall record in 12 seasons as a head coach.
Pins graduated from Wartburg in 2005 with a B.A. in history, and she earned an M.A. in physical education with an emphasis in teaching and coaching from the University of Northern Iowa in 2010.
