W&L Choral and Instrumental Program to Hold Parents and Family Weekend Concerts Kick off the weekend’s festivities with W&L’s choral ensembles on Oct. 24 and instrumental ensembles on Oct. 25 in Wilson Concert Hall.

Parents and Family Weekend Choral Concert
Washington and Lee University presents the Parents and Family Weekend Choral Concert at 8 p.m. on Oct. 24 in the Wilson Concert Hall in the Lenfest Center for the Arts. A reception in Lykes Atrium will immediately follow the performance.
The performance is free, but tickets are required and available only to current W&L students and families. The event will also be streamed online at https://go.wlu.edu/livestream.
The concert will feature performances by the University Singers, Glee Club and Cantatrici. Showcasing Lacey Lynch, conductor of Cantatrici and lecturer of music, and members of the university’s Choral Conducting Mentorship Program (CCMP), the first half of the program will feature modern a capella classics from around the world. The University Singers, usually conducted by Shane Lynch, professor of music and director of choral activities, will be conducted by former CCMP member Olivia Arnold ’17 during Lynch’s sabbatical. Traditional favorites will round out the evening, finally closing with James Erb’s “Shenandoah.”
