W&L Financial Aid Staff Member Selected to Participate in College Board Enrollment Leadership Academy Shanice Hardy will take part in the year-long program focused on leadership skills and enrollment management practices.
Shanice Hardy, assistant director of financial aid at Washington and Lee University, has been selected by College Board to participate in the organization’s Enrollment Leadership Academy for the 2023-24 academic year.
The Enrollment Leadership Academy is a year-long program focused on leadership skills, strategic enrollment management and developing the next generation of enrollment leaders. Hardy and the other participants will attend virtual and in-person meetings throughout the year facilitated by experienced education professionals covering topics within strategic enrollment management, leadership and College Board’s mission, membership and governance.
Participants in the program are first nominated by a supervisor or colleague and are then selected by College Board using the following criteria: a demonstrated commitment to the field of enrollment management; 5-10 years of experience in financial aid or undergraduate admissions; and significant potential for advancement in the profession.
Hardy is the first staff member from W&L selected to take part in the program since Grace Loughhead, associate dean of admissions, completed the program in 2019-20.
“I am grateful for the nomination and selection to this program,” said Hardy. “We recently had the first session, and I am already learning a great deal that I can bring back to W&L. I look forward to continued growth that benefits my team and allows me to be a better counselor to my students.”
Hardy has been a member of the financial aid staff since 2020, focusing on the QuestBridge program, federal and state grants and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) processing.
If you know a W&L staff member who has done great, accolade-worthy things, tell us about them! Nominate them for an accolade.
