The Department of Music at Washington and Lee University will present the Fall Chorale Concert on Friday, Oct. 17, at 8 p.m. in Wilson Concert Hall in the Lenfest Center for the Arts. The performance will feature W&L’s University Singers, Glee Club and Cantatrici.
The performance is free, but tickets are required and available online. The event will also be streamed online at https://go.wlu.edu/livestream.
The program kicks off the 2025-2026 choral season, led by Lacey Lynch, conductor of Cantatrici and lecturer of music, and student members of the Choral Conducting Mentorship Program (CCMP). The University Singers will be conducted by W&L alumna and former CCMP member Olivia Arnold ’17 during director Shane Lynch’s sabbatical.
The first half of the concert will feature modern a capella fun with a broad variety of works from around the world. The award-winning University Singers will then perform a rigorous set centered around the heavens and stars, opening with Michael Ostrzyga’s “Iuppiter.” The evening will close with traditional favorites, including James Erb’s “Shenandoah.”
