
W&L Piano Program Presents ‘Superstars: Piano Virtuosos through the Ages’ The March 9 performance will be followed by a reception.
Students in Washington and Lee University’s piano program will perform their annual winter concert, “Superstars: Piano Virtuosos through the Ages,” on Sunday, March 9 at 3 p.m. in Wilson Concert Hall in the Lenfest Center for the Arts. The performance will be followed by a reception in Lykes Atrium.
The performance is free and open to the public. The event will also be streamed online at https://go.wlu.edu/livestream.
The program will highlight piano pieces written by musicians known for their compositional artistry as well as their virtuosity on stage. The matinee performance will feature works by George Fredric Handel, George Walker, György Ligeti and Scott Joplin, as well as dramatic favorites by Franz Liszt, Bedřich Smetana and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
