Washington and Lee University’s SonoKlect presents a Lexington appearance by the group “Sheroes,” an all-female jazz quintet. The group will present a free concert at 8 p.m. on Nov. 6 in Wilson Concert Hall.

Tickets are free and masks are required.

The group, created by Monika Herzig, has released more than a dozen albums. Herzig has toured worldwide, performing at many prestigious jazz clubs and festivals.

Sharing the stage with Herzig (piano) is Jamie Baum on flute, Reut Regev on trombone, Jennifer Vincent on bass and Rosa Avila on the drums.

Praising her bandmates, Herzig says, “These are all incredibly accomplished musicians, often sacrificing other opportunities, family time and resources to perform in this group. They are my idols in terms of tenacity and accomplishment and should be more widely heard and appreciated.”

In addition to their public performance, “Sheroes” will work with W&L music students in classes and rehearsals during a mini-residency on campus.
