W&L to Host “Slices of Research” Program at Salerno Wood Fired Pizza & Taphouse Newly promoted faculty members will present their research in a PechaKucha format on Jan. 27.

Washington and Lee University’s Office of the Provost is pleased to present the “Slices of Research” program at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at Salerno Wood Fired Pizza & Taphouse in Lexington.
The event will feature research and creative works presented by recently promoted faculty; the goal is to bring faculty and staff together in a social space to strengthen W&L’s intellectual and cultural community. The program’s first hour will be devoted to socializing, with presentations starting between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m.
Seven faculty members will present their research in a PechaKucha storytelling format featuring 20 slides or images displayed for 20 seconds apiece. The presenters are:
- Megan Hess, Class of 1960 Professor of Ethics and Accounting
- Elliott King, professor of art history
- Alex Klein, associate professor of law
- Shikha Silwal, professor of economics
- Kefu Lu, associate professor of computer science
- Colin Reid, professor of accounting
- Stephan Fafatas, professor of accounting
W&L will cover the cost of pizza and the first drink for faculty and staff. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance, and questions should be sent to Rissie Murphy, manager of provost office operations.
