W&L’s Ball Writes Personal Memoir In “My San Francisco,” Gordon Ball, visiting associate professor of English, recounts experiences of his time spent in the city.
Gordon Ball, visiting associate professor of English at Washington and Lee University, published a book in October 2020 titled “My San Francisco.”
In the book, Ball discusses when he first saw San Francisco as a small child. He also recounts Bay Area experiences from family furlough visits throughout the years, followed by hitchhiking there in the war-torn 1960s and embarking on a six-month stay a few years later, the culmination of a cross-country journey with poet Allen Ginsberg.
