Wind EnsembleJoin W&L’s University Wind Ensemble (UWE) as the group presents an engaging evening of musical premieres at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7 in the Wilson Concert Hall.
Tickets are not required. The performance will be streamed online at livestream.com/wlu. There will be a reception following the performance.
The UWE will treat the audience to Felix Mendelssohn’s “Overture for Winds,” which is perhaps the first time the work has been performed by a wind band. Additional works include Julie Giroux’s heart-wrenching “One Life Beautiful,” among others. As a special treat, the UWE will be joined by guest composers Armando Bayolo and Katahj Copley in the world premiere of a new work composed exclusively for the ensemble.
