Alex Rabar Profiled by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators W&L’s chief public safety officer was featured in the member spotlight series “Behind the Uniform.”

Alex Rabar, chief public safety officer at Washington and Lee University, was recently featured by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators in an online segment titled “Behind the Uniform.”

“Behind the Uniform” spotlights campus safety professionals who share their career journeys, personal perspectives and professional insights.

Rabar joined the W&L community in April 2025 after nearly 30 years in public safety at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, which later became part of Rutgers University. Rabar began his career as an officer and later became a sergeant, captain and deputy chief of police before retiring from Rutgers in 2023.

Rabar earned a Bachelor of Science in administration of justice from Rutgers and a Master of Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He also completed advanced leadership training at the West Point Command and Leadership Academy and at the FBI National Academy.
