DeLaney Center to Hold Spotlight Event The event held as part of the Parents and Family Weekend festivities will be held at 5 p.m. Oct. 1 in the Watson Pavilion.
The DeLaney Center at Washington and Lee University will hold a spotlight event to feature student contributions to its programming. The event will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 in the Watson Pavilion. Light refreshments will be served and the event is free and open to the public.
Students have played an integral role in the DeLaney Center’s mission to promote civic excellence through the study of Southern race relations, culture and politics. The spotlight will offer an opportunity to hear directly from undergraduates about their experiences taking part in the center’s programming and initiatives such as the Leading Edge pre-orientation program’s Freedom Ride, the Race and Southern Studies Internship Program and the DeLaney Center Leadership Cohort.
