Get to Know the Newest Members of the W&L Community – 2/1/24 The following individuals recently joined the Washington and Lee employee workforce.

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I am married and I have a culinary associate degree from Orlando Culinary Le Cordon Bleu. Football is my favorite sport and I love the Green Bay Packers.

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I love gardening, canning, flowers and playing with food.

Q. Anything in particular you are looking forward to at W&L?
Yes, absolutely everything! It is unfamiliar to me, so every day for a while will be exciting and new and I am very much looking forward to this.

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from Davidson College and a Master of Education in higher education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have a spouse, Molly, and three children, Lovett (6), Sandy (4) and Ellen (almost 2).

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I am a big English soccer fan and I love to watch Everton try not to lose. I also love college basketball. As a Davidson graduate, I’ve seen Steph Curry play nearly 50 times, almost all as a college student.

Q. Any favorite regional spots or activities you are excited about?
I like good coffee and craft beer. I am excited about Heliotrope and Lexington Coffee Co!


Katelyn Nicely, Outdoor Education and Recreation Operations Manager

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I have been in the field of education for the last 16 years but, I earned my Bachelor of Science from Radford University in recreation, parks, and tourism with concentrations in outdoor recreation and recreation management. I am so grateful that I get to blend both passions in my new role.

Q. Any favorite regional spots or activities you are excited about?
I love to fish on the Maury River and the James River.

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I go camping, hiking and fishing with my husband and son.

I graduated high school in June 2015 and I have a twin sister who is my sidekick.
