Mike Camden, University Facilities

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a proud dad of two amazing kids. I am also a lifelong mechanic and have been in the landscape industry since 2001. I enjoy anything outdoors.

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I enjoy drag racing, building engines, fishing, anything mechanical, playing guitar and several other instruments, traveling and much more.

Q. Best advice anyone has ever given you?
“Without risk there is no gain.”

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I am originally from Richmond, Virginia and went to college at Colgate University. After completing my undergraduate studies, I went to Springfield College where I got a master’s degree and was a graduate assistant coach. Following that, I was the head coach of women’s tennis at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Upstate New York. My dad went to VMI, so I have grown up coming to Lexington.

Q. Any favorite Lexington or regional activities that you are excited about?
I am excited to explore the mountains and great outdoors spots.

Q. Anything in particular you are looking forward to at W&L?
I am excited to get to know my student-athletes and the greater W&L campus. The people are what make W&L so great!

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
I am originally from Fluvanna County, which is near Charlottesville, Virginia. I graduated from Piedmont Virginia Community College where I majored in health information management.

Q. How do you unwind or have fun? Any hobbies or hidden talents?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My favorite ways to unwind are reading, listening to a podcast, or watching a good Netflix show or documentary. I like to exercise, and I love when I get the opportunity to see a beautiful sunrise.

Q. Best advice anyone has ever given you?
“The windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason.”
