Little Scholars to Offer On-Campus Summer Youth Camp The program features different weekly themes running June 16 to Aug. 1.
Washington and Lee University is pleased to announce that its faculty and staff will now have access to an annual on-campus summer youth program to assist with seasonal childcare for children entering kindergarten through rising sixth grade.
The Little Scholars camp will run from June 16 to Aug. 1, 2025, and will be held Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Each week has a new theme; campers will be guided through various fun and creative activities, adventures, experiments, sports and building exercises that promise to engage and entertain.
The program is offered for $260 per week for each child and employees can use their Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DC FSA) to cover camp costs. W&L will match up to $500 in the DC FSA. Employees must update their DC FSA contributions during open enrollment in late April to take advantage of the match.
“By offering the Little Scholars summer camp on the W&L campus, we’re providing employees with a reliable and convenient programming option while ensuring their kids have a fun and enriching summer experience,” said Jodi Williams, executive director of Human Resources. “We understand the challenge of finding consistent, all-day camps locally, and we hope this initiative will make the summer months easier for our faculty and staff.”
Drop-off and pick-up will be handled at the Davidson Park parking lot at 25 Estill Street in Lexington, and campers will participate in activities hosted at the Sigma Chi, Nuestro Hogar Latino and Kappa Sigma houses located at 216, 218 and 220 East Nelson Street, respectively.
Employees seeking additional information about the summer camp programming are encouraged to attend a Zoom information session at noon on Monday, March 17. For those unable to participate, a recording will be included at the web address below.
Registration for W&L employees will officially begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18. Should additional spots be available, registration will open to the greater Rockbridge community beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 24.
