Meet a Colleague: Milea Webb Milea Webb is a Library Assistant and the Circulation Lead in the Law Library.
Milea Webb is a Library Assistant and the Circulation Lead and has worked at W&L Law since October 2018. Milea is from (and currently lives) in Buena Vista, VA. She currently lives with the “cutest puppy in the world,” her Yorkshire terrier, Maxwell. She has been working in a library setting since she was thirteen.
Q. Where is your favorite location on the W&L campus?
My favorite spot on campus would be a tie between my office and the walk to Leyburn. I have worked hard to make my office feel homey and the walk to Leyburn is beautiful.
Q. What is your favorite thing to do when you are not working?
I love to playing fetch or tug of war with my dog Maxwell or curling up in a cozy spot and reading.
Q. Book/Podcast/TV Show Recommendation?
I love most crime/drama shows from the early 2000s: “Bones,” “Castle,” “Criminal Minds,” and “White Collar.” Although, my absolute favorite is “Psych” (which is more comedy than drama most of the time). There are way too many books that I could recommend, but I am more than happy to talk books at any time.
Q. Who inspires you?
My parents inspire me. My mom because she has worked hard to continue her education as an adult student with a family, and she is now enrolled in a fellows program through her work where she is currently the only Virginia student enrolled. My dad inspires me because he is the hardest worker I know, having retired when I was young, but continues to find new part-time/odd jobs that keep him busy (still being available and helpful if I, or my friends, ever need him).
Q. If you could have coffee or tea with one person, who would it be and why?
I don’t drink coffee or tea, but if I could spend time with one person again it would be my grandfather who passed away in 2008. I miss when he would pick me up from school and make a special day of it by taking me to get Burger King and those sponge animals in the capsules. He would also sing a special song to each of the grandkids–mine was “Oh My Darling, Clementine.”
Q. What is an accomplishment you are proud of?
I am proud of graduating from college, Sweet Briar, especially after the school almost closed my junior year.
Q. Favorite food/restaurant/drink?
While my favorite food to cook is alfredo pasta, my favorite local restaurant is Lexington’s Don Tequila–it has good food and is not too far off the route to home from work.
Q. Most used/enjoyable app on your phone?
I’m going to have to copy Freda (who was featured recently) and say that my favorite app is the Furbo Dog Camera. I also enjoy listening to audiobooks from the library using the Libby app or different podcasts from YouTube during my working day. I like having some background noise while I am in my office.
