Registration Is Now Open for W&L’s 10th Annual Entrepreneurship Summit The spring event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 29-30 on campus.
“Every time I travel to Lexington for the summit, I come back with a ton of inspiration and new ideas. The content is great, and I end up connecting with interesting alums from different classes and bumping into others I hadn’t seen in a while.”

Registration is now open for Washington and Lee University’s 10th Annual Entrepreneurship Summit, which will take place Friday and Saturday, April 29-30, 2022! The summit is open to the entire W&L community. Interested alumni and guests, faculty, staff and students can register here.
For the first time, most of the summit’s planning is driven by an alumni Steering Committee, which is being led by Alumni Chair Deets Hoffman ’10.
Hoffman graduated from W&L in 2010 with a degree in business administration, then went to work for Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from 2010 to 2013. He also worked in private equity for Advent International in their retail, restaurants and consumer sector team from 2013 to 2016. He departed Advent in 2016 to start a healthy fast-casual restaurant company called Leaf & Grain in Houston, Texas.
“Every time I travel to Lexington for the summit, I come back with a ton of inspiration and new ideas. The content is great, and I end up connecting with interesting alums from different classes and bumping into others I hadn’t seen in a while,” said Hoffman.
“It’s a great experience, and I’m excited to be chairing the 10th summit in-person after a remote year. Hard to beat Lexington in the spring!”
The 2022 Entrepreneurship Summit will feature a keynote address, several panel discussions, networking events, a student pitch competition, an alumni pitch session and more. Panel subjects include “Female Founders,” “The Crypto Revolution,” “Makers and Creators,” “Non-Founder Entrepreneurship,” and more. The event is primarily targeted to aspiring and successful entrepreneurs and students from all majors who want to hear from alumni who’ve started businesses from scratch.
The full schedule is now available online and will be updated throughout the next several weeks as speakers confirm. Registration for this event will close on April 29, 2022, at 5 p.m.
Attendees are expected to be in compliance with the university’s COVID-19 guidelines at the time of the event.
