Talia Elliott, a rising third-year law student at Washington and Lee University, received the Best Advocate Award at the recent Trial Skills Bootcamp held in Dallas.

The event was sponsored by the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, a bar organization that supports young lawyers and serves the community through public service projects. Elliott participated in the event while working as a summer associate in the Litigation Practice Group at the firm Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr.

“The event was a great learning opportunity,” said Elliott. “It included a panel discussion and a presentation on cross examination skills, as well as a chance to practice cross examination and receive personal feedback from experienced attorneys.”

A graduate of Bradley University, Elliott is a lead online editor for the W&L Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Executive board, chairing the John W. Davis Appellate Advocacy Competition this fall. As a 2L, she was a finalist in the Davis Competition and a semifinalist in the Robert J. Grey Negotiations competition.
