Washington and Lee Presents Choral Ensemble Showcase The concert is free and open to the public to view online.
University Choral EnsembleThe Washington and Lee University Choral Ensemble will perform a virtual concert on Monday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. The show is an eclectic concert featuring traditional music from Lithuania, Slovenia, Argentina, Georgia, Russia and many other countries.
The concert is free and open to the public to view online at https://livestream.com/wlu.
Prepared and performed under appropriate COVID-19 safety precautions, the concert will feature the music of old favorites like Bach and Mendelssohn along with exciting new works by composers Dan Forrest, Samo Vovk and Alberto Grau.
A highlight of the concert is the performance of two folk wedding celebration songs, “Trepute Martela” by Vaclovas Augustinas, performed by the W&L Glee Club and Canatatrici, and Samo Vovk’s epic “Ta Na Solbici,” performed by the University Singers.
