“Dr. Toplak has written extensively on elections around the world and in Eastern Europe,” said Mark Rush, director of the Center for International Education. “His talk on European courts will offer unique perspectives on the region’s political and judicial development as well as the impact of the expansion of the European Union.”

Since 2006, he has been a board member of the International Political Science Association Political Finance and Political Corruption Research Committee. He is currently vice chair of the group.

“It is exciting to welcome such a globally oriented legal scholar to campus as we inaugurate the new Law, Justice, and Society program,” said Rush.
