W&L Jazz Ensemble Presents Winter Showcase The student ensemble will be joined by the Rockbridge County High School Jazz Ensemble in their April 11 performance.
Join the Washington and Lee University Jazz Ensemble for their end-of-year concert, featuring the Rockbridge County High School (RCHS) Jazz Ensemble, at 8 p.m. on April 11 in Wilson Concert Hall in the Lenfest Center for the Performing Arts.
The performance is free and open to the public and no tickets are required. The event will also be streamed online at https://go.wlu.edu/livestream.
The two ensembles have a history of musical collaboration and are excited to revive the tradition at the April 11 performance. The RCHS Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Miranda Fitzgerald, will open the show with a fun and vibrant collection of jazz band selections.
The W&L Jazz Ensemble, directed by Terry Vosbein, professor of music, composition and music theory at W&L, will take the stage following intermission, presenting a range of selections from classic swing to contemporary fusion. The dynamic and eclectic selections will showcase the ensemble’s versatility and creativity. To round out the evening, the two ensembles will collaborate in a lively and energetic finale.
