W&L Music Presents Fall Choral Concert The Oct. 23 performance will take place in the Lenfest Center’s Wilson Concert Hall and will feature W&L’s University Singers, Glee Club and Cantatrici.

The Department of Music at Washington and Lee University will present the Fall Choral Concert at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, in Wilson Concert Hall in the Lenfest Center for the Arts. The performance will feature W&L’s University Singers, Glee Club and Cantatrici.
The performance is free, but tickets are required and available online. The event will also be streamed online at https://go.wlu.edu/livestream.
The program will open with two energetic songs from members of the Glee Club followed by modern works from Cantratrici led by Lacey Lynch, conductor of Cantatrici and lecturer of music, and assisted by members of the Choral Conducting Mentorship Program (CCMP). The two choirs will then combine for several works, closing out the first half of the program with Craig Hella Johnson’s touching setting of Dolly Parton’s “Light of a Clear Blue Morning.”
The University Singers, conducted by Shane Lynch, professor of music and director of choral activities, will then perform a rigorous set that will highlight works they will perform as honored participants in the 2027 Jeju International Choral Festival in South Korea. Traditional favorites will round out the evening, closing with James Erb’s “Shenandoah.”
