W&L Presents Senior Recital with Levi Lebsack ’21 Lebsack will perform a virtual organ concert via livestream on May 18 at 7 p.m.
Levi Lebsack ’21, a Washington and Lee University senior, will perform a virtual organ recital at Lexington Presbyterian Church in Lexington on May 18 at 7 p.m. Lebsack is a music major from Fort Worth, Texas.
The concert will feature J.S. Bach’s “Prelude and Fugue in F Major,” Johann Pachelbel’s “Toccata in E Minor,” Johann Christoph Oley’s chorale preludes, selections from César Franck’s “L’Organiste,” and organ works of Florence Price, the first female African-American symphonic composer.
The performance is free to the public and will be streamed online at https://www.lexpreschurch.live/.
During his time at W&L, Lebsack has been mentored by William McCorkle, W&L music professor, and Martha Burford of Lexington.
“The skills and knowledge they have imparted to me will be essential for my work in liturgical music and music education in my future career,” Lebsack said.
After graduation, Lebsack will begin work as a middle school choir director at All Saints’ Episcopal School is in Fort Worth, Texas. He also will be responsible for organizing and providing music for weekly liturgical services.
