Brian Alexander, assistant professor of politics at Washington and Lee University, recently published an article on LegBranch.org titled “The House is more courteous than you might imagine.”
The article is a part of his forthcoming book, “A Social Theory of Congress: Legislative Norms in the Twenty-First Century,” which he plans to finish this fall.
In the piece, Alexander writes “Consistent with qualitative findings in interviews, members are, in fact, generally courteous toward one another.”
