W&L’s Ricciardi Quoted in The Street Professor Victor Ricciardi discussed a new category in the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standard
Victor Ricciardi, visiting assistant professor of finance at Washington and Lee University, was recently quoted in an article in The Street, a financial news and financial literacy website, titled “CFP Board Adds Psychology of Financial Planning to Exam Topics.”
The article discusses the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standard’s (CFP) recent addition of a new category titled “Psychology of Financial Planning” to the list of subjects that prospective certified financial planners will need to master to pass the CFP examination.
In the piece, Ricciardi praises this development.
“This will hopefully assist planners in providing better financial advice and improve the decision-making process of their clients,” Ricciardi said. “Many financial planners are already applying the knowledge of behavioral finance topics and tools in their daily routine; this news helps to formally structure the process and recognizes planners play many important roles such as personal finance educator and financial coach.”
