Join W&L’s University Wind Ensemble for their Winter Term concert, “The Nature of Music,” at 8 p.m. on April 8 in Wilson Concert Hall in the Lenfest Center for the Performing Arts, followed by a reception in Lykes Atrium.

The performance is free and open to the public, and no tickets are required. The event will also be streamed online at https://go.wlu.edu/livestream.

In their performance, the University Wind Ensemble will celebrate the reawakening of spring with music that expresses the beauty of nature, including works by Rossano Galante and David Maslanka. Composer Stephen Lias will join for the premiere of his new work based on his time backpacking in Lake Clark National Park, and the concert will also feature the winners of the 2023-24 W&L Concerto-Aria Contest: pianist An Shelmire ’25 and soprano Heidi Thiessen ’25.
