Author Stephen Denny to Give Keynote Address at Entrepreneurship Summit Sept. 26

The J. Lawrence Connolly Center for Entrepreneurship at Washington and Lee University announced that the keynote address for its fourth annual Entrepreneurship Summit will be given by Stephen Denny, marketing consultant and the author of “Killing Giants: 10 Strategies to Topple the Goliath In Your Industry.”

Denny’s keynote will be on Sept. 26 at 5:45 p.m. in Stackhouse Theater and is open to the general public. A book signing will follow in the Science Center’s first floor atrium.

Denny graduated from W&L in 1983 with a degree in East Asian studies and went on to earn an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He spent 20 years working in marketing for technology companies such as Sony, Onstar, Iomega and Plantronics. As a consultant, Denny helps emerging brands define their competitive positioning, communication strategies and implementation plans in the market.

This is the fourth year for the University’s Entrepreneurship Summit. In 2014, nearly 100 alumni joined fewer than 300 students for two days of panel discussions, talks and networking sessions intended to help alumni and students learn more about what it takes to launch and grow a successful business venture.

Denny’s visit is jointly sponsored by the Connolly Center for Entrepreneurship, the Contact Committee and the Johnson Lecture Series. No registration is required to attend Denny’s keynote address; to register for the Entrepreneurship Summit, Sept. 25 and 26, visit entrepreneurship.wlu.edu.
