Starring Andrew Scott in a Laurence Olivier Award-winning performance as Garry Essendine, Noel Coward’s 1939 play is a giddy and modern reflection on fame, desire and loneliness. As star actor Garry prepares to embark on an overseas tour, his colorful life is in danger of spiraling out of control. Engulfed by an escalating identity crisis as his many and varied relationships compete for attention, Garry’s few remaining days at home are a chaotic whirlwind of love, sex, panic and soul-searching.
Filmed live during its 2019 run at The Old Vic on London’s West End, “Present Laughter” is directed by Matthew Warchus.
