W&L’s SonoKlect Series Presents Los Tres Músicos The Feb. 15 performance will be followed by a reception.
Washington and Lee University’s Department of Music presents the piano trio Los Tres Músicos on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m. in Wilson Concert Hall in the Lenfest Center for the Arts. The performance is part of the SonoKlect Series, a program dedicated to bringing modern music to local audiences in Lexington, VA. A reception in Lykes Atrium will follow the performance where attendees can engage directly with the artists and composer.
The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
The trio returns to Lexington after their musical journey began at SonoKlect in 1997. Since then, the members, violinist Jasper Wood, cellist Jesús Morales and pianist David Riley, have evolved into globally renowned artists performing on an international scale. The performance will be a testament to decades of friendship and music as the musicians reunite to captivate Lexington audiences once more.
The performance will feature works including “Currents” by Steven James, “Trio for Now and Then” by Yuri Bortz and Terry Vosbein’s “Trio No. 2,” a piece composed for Los Tres Músicos 30 years ago. The highlight of the evening will be the debut of “Wanderlust,” a new composition by Vosbein written specifically for the trio.
