W&L’s Leah Naomi Green Talks Walt Whitman on NPR Green was recently interviewed on NPR’s Morning Edition for the bicentennial of American poet Walt Whitman’s birth.

In her interview Green said of Whitman, “He’s just very real to me. I think that there’s no poet whose work has been more real to my writing and teaching than Whitman has.”
Whitman was born 200 years ago on May 31, 1819.
